Oh, I remember this…there was all sorts of talk at the time about him double crossing the Vatican in some dodgy deal. It was Papal Visit year wasn’t it?
There’s a load of great Masonic & psychogeographic theory as to why he was hanged in that particluar spot too.
Think about it, why risk doing it in the middle of a public space on a capital city when you could dump him somewhere remote? A statement or ritual of some kind surely…
