Help to raise funds to keep Spirit in his shop and home in Broadway Market, E8 and to prevent his eviction from the business he built from scratch before Hackney sold him out to offshore developers (see http://34broadwaymarket.omweb.org for more details)
A percentage of proceeds will also go towards supporting the occupation at Russell Square and towards the Advisory Service for Squatters

Sounds like a reasonable cause. We have problems like that here in Tokyo as well. Most often the government shitstem and the developers have their hands so deep in each others pockets you cant tell one from the other.
However it must be the conservative in me which says that if one penny goes to squatters and other slack jawed hippie types who wont work then I start getting all uptight.

4pm – 12 midnight
With Solution Sound System playing Roots Reggae old and new (70’s, 80’s, 90’s,
00’s, JA and UK).
To be held @ Space training and resources, 129 – 131 Mare St, Hackney E8.
Entrance is on Warburton Rd (off Mare St, London Fields pub is on the corner)
The event will be held in a large, outdoor, covered area so rain will not stop
play.

Unfortunately the organisers have just informed us that due to problems with staffing at the venue, Spirit’s barbeque and reggae dance which was due to take place this Saturday, has been cancelled.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused. Please, please foward this and spread the word, we don’t want anybody to have a wasted journey.

The next Spirit Gig is on Saturday 3rd February 2007 – 10pm til 6am. Both Solution Sound and Jah Youth roots Ambassador will be playing this latest gig to raise funds for the Save The Spirit Campaign.
